Much like Midtown Shoes, Birkenstock is a family owned and operated business, and we proudly carry more than 20 styles of their footwear.
Granted, Birkenstock predates us by more than just a few years. The company started in 1774 when Johann Adam Birkenstock registered as a shoemaker in a small village in Germany. The time-honored German shoe making tradition practiced by its founder remains prevalent in their products. In fact, Birkenstock shoes and boots are still made in Europe, and footbeds and sandals continue to be made in Germany.
Unbeknownst to most, Birkenstock is the originator of the moldable footbed. Their design contours to the foot while walking and is made of 100% renewable cork—supporting the wearer and the environment. Additional features include a deep heel cup for natural cushioning, a raised toe bar which aids the natural gripping motion of your foot, and a spacious toe box to promote circulation.
Many styles come in narrow and regular widths to ensure that everyone can enjoy the renowned Birkenstock comfort and support.

Dansko shoes are designed to provide a solid foundation for comfortable living and Midtown Shoes is proud to carry more than 35 styles in our store to help you lay the groundwork.
Every great and lasting structure sits atop a sturdy foundation. Dansko constructs their footwear to support the human body from the ground up. Each collection features cornerstone characteristics of the clog: a strain reducing rocker bottom, solid arch support, and a spacious toe box to allow maximum circulation. In fact, most Dansko shoes have been given the Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA).
This sturdy design makes them ideal for anyone who spends most of the day on their feet. Nurses, doctors, surgeons, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals have all come to rely on the superior arch support to ease the stress put on their feet by countless rounds of clinic duty, during nonstop patient consultations, or while performing a lengthy surgery. From classic white nursing clogs that complement scrubs of any color, to clogs with fashionable prints sure to set the wearer apart, to dressier clogs perfect for doctors, Dansko provides the best fit for medical professionals looking to adhere to their uniform requirements without sacrificing their style.
Dansko footwear is also relied upon by those who work in the hospitality and service industries. The structurally sound footbeds reduce foot fatigue to help chefs, cooks, hostesses, and servers make it through the busy dinner rush. For restaurant employees who need non-slip shoes, Dansko offers a line of fashionable slip-resistant clogs and chef shoes that have been tested on slick surfaces simulating hazardous kitchen conditions. This collection is made from especially durable materials making them easy to clean between shifts, yet their stylish design allows for a seamless transition between the back of the house and the dining room.
While clogs are a staple of their brand, Dansko also offers their uncompromising all-day comfort in a variety of styles: Stay cool on a warm summer day with heeled sandals, wedge sandals, and comfy open-toe sandals with cork soles that reduce the stress put on your feet. Compliment your latest professional look with leather heels or flats. Stay fit with athletic wear equipped with adjustable straps that keep your feet secure when you’re on the move. And finish the year strong with chic booties from the Autum/Winter line in leather, suede, or fabric.

Midtown Shoes is proud to carry more than 40 styles of Vionic shoes to help heal your heels.
Vionic was founded by acclaimed Austrailian podiatrist, Phillip Vasyli, who specialized in lower-limb biomechanics. After treating thousands of patients ranging from small children to professional athletes, Vasyli became disillusioned by the fact that the most commonly occurring foot-related ailments, such as plantar fasciitis and over-pronation, were among the most expensive to treat. Ever a trailblazer, Vasyli created an economical solution to help treat his patients: one of the first heat-moldable orthotics. The results of the low-cost alternative were undeniable and helped set the stage for the renowned Orthaheel orthotic.
Vionic shoes are equipped with revolutionary Orthaheel Technology and many have been granted the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance. These innovations in support and comfort are concealed in stylish designs of sandals, slippers, heels, boots, and active wear.

Wearing Chacos is the first step towards adventure. Fortunately, Midtown Shoes carries more than 30 varieties of Chaco footwear to help you stride in style.
In the mid 1980’s Mark Paigen was working as a rafting guide on the Colorado River. To do his job day in and day out, he needed a shoe that could withstand constant exposure to water, provide protection from the rocky riverbanks, and allow the his feet to dry naturally. At that time, nothing on the market met his needs, so he began making sport sandals for his fellow rafting guides. His ambitious side project was a hit, and in 1989 Chaco was formed.
Today, Chaco is still relied upon for its sandals, most of which feature a solitary, adjustable strap that wraps around the foot in a signature Z pattern. Add to that a durable sole that refuses to yield to even the roughest terrain and consider yourself well equipped for any adventure.
Since the original water sports sandal, Chaco has brought their superior functionality to styles of flip-flops, sandals, and closed-toe shoes and slides for men, women, and children.

Naot shoes are designed to acclimate to the individual. At Midtown Shoes we carry over 35 different models to accommodate your individual style.
Naot, which translates to “oasis” in Hebrew, is an Israeli manufacturer that has been producing quality footwear for more than half a century. The company started in 1942 from the humble beginnings of a one-room workshop. At first, the factory only made sandals and modest work shoes, but in the late 1980’s they conceived a revelatory idea: “It’s fashionable to walk in comfort.” The concept emerged from northern Israel and swept the globe, altering people’s expectations of their footwear. Naot has become an international success story and is now Israel’s foremost manufacturer and exporter of shoes.
Naot shoes are characterized by their unique anatomical footbed. The footbeds are composed of natural cork and latex, lined with a soothing layer of suede. These materials allow them to be shock absorbent and extraordinarily flexible, contouring to the wearer’s foot. Since the footbeds are removable they are easily replaced should they ever wear out, or Naot shoes can serve as stylish housing for those who wish to use their own custom made orthotics.
The adaptable footbeds can be found in all their fashionable collections of sandals, casual and dress shoes, clogs, wedges, heels, and boots—from ankle booties to knee highs. Stride assured, the internal quality is at balance with the external craftsmanship as the uppers are made with choice Italian leathers.
