Wearing Chacos is the first step towards adventure. Fortunately, Midtown Shoes carries more than 30 varieties of Chaco footwear to help you stride in style.
In the mid 1980’s Mark Paigen was working as a rafting guide on the Colorado River. To do his job day in and day out, he needed a shoe that could withstand constant exposure to water, provide protection from the rocky riverbanks, and allow the his feet to dry naturally. At that time, nothing on the market met his needs, so he began making sport sandals for his fellow rafting guides. His ambitious side project was a hit, and in 1989 Chaco was formed.
Today, Chaco is still relied upon for its sandals, most of which feature a solitary, adjustable strap that wraps around the foot in a signature Z pattern. Add to that a durable sole that refuses to yield to even the roughest terrain and consider yourself well equipped for any adventure.
Since the original water sports sandal, Chaco has brought their superior functionality to styles of flip-flops, sandals, and closed-toe shoes and slides for men, women, and children.
